A Bike Riding Kid and His American Flag Speak for America

Seth 7 Comments

Cody Alicea is a great kid because he is a kid that speaks for America. For 2 months Cody rode his bike to his Middle school in California with an American flag on it. Freedom week comes along and Cody was told that some students had complained and made threats and he could no longer ride his bike on the school grounds with the American flag attached to it.

Cody is a proud American kid that wanted to display the American flag to honor veterans just like all of us should. Cody said, “In this country we’re supposed to be free. And I should be able to wave my flag wherever I want to. And they’re telling me I can’t.” You’re right Cody and just like Obama way too many people and schools seem to be apologizing for being American. I guess some people think it is okay to burn the flag but you aren’t supposed to display it. Maybe if you had been running around with a gangster sign that would have been okay but an American flag no way!

The School Superintendent Edward Parraz said that some kids complained and threatened violence so they told Cody he would have to remove the flag from his bike. The superintendent said. “The First Amendment is important. We want the kids to respect it, understand it, and with that comes a responsibility.” The superintendent also said, “Our Hispanic, you know, kids will, you know, bring their Mexican flags and they’ll display it, and then of course the kids would do the American flag situation, and it does cause kind of a racial tension which we don’t really want.”

Mr. Parraz needs to get it in his big head that this is the United States and that responsibility also includes respecting the flag of the country you live in and not threatening violence. It also means that the school has to be responsible and handle the threats and not just do the easy thing. This kid Cody deserves lots of apologies and has a right to show that he loves America.

During Freedom week Cody was told to remove the American flag from his bike. Freedom week is the week that celebrates the coming down of the Berlin Wall, the Marines birthday and also Veterans day. I wonder if the school is so liberal that Freedom scares them?

I understand that Mr. Parraz did finally get a little bit smarter and a little bit braver when he decided to face up to the trouble makers and allow Cody to keep his flag on his bike.

I hope that Cody will come on Kids Speak for America and leave a comment or small article so people that don’t watch or listen to the news can get his point of view.

OoRah Cody!!!

Is the Word Guns Graphic Violence?

Seth 8 Comments

A couple of days ago at school we had an assignment to write a biopoem. A Biopoem is a poem that describes a person in 11 lines. There is a specific formula to use when writing a bio poem. After submitting my poem the writing teacher refused it and said to me, “Your poem is all about guns and is borderline graphic violence and you have to get your mind off it.”

In my biopoem I had mentioned guns, bullets or ammo several times. The teacher had said she wanted our biopoem to tell about us so that is what I gave her. My dad and I like guns and I want to be a competition shooter and a Marine Scout Sniper.

One of the questions asked what I appreciate.  I replied that I appreciate electricity, guns, ammo and friends.

Another question asked what I wonder about and I answered that I wonder how bullets do so much damage when they hit big things even though they are small.

In another question I had replied that I believe in nukes if you have to use them, conservatism and guns.

To one of the questions I had replied I want to make it in politics and I want to make it to the Marines Scout Sniper unit.

And in one of the final questions I had answered that I love sports, guns and video games.

Okay, maybe I am into guns more than most but she asked and I answered. I appreciate guns for lots of reasons. You can target shoot and hunt with them and you should still have one for self protection.  Some people don’t like guns but does that give them the right to force their belief on others?

While this teacher may not like guns did this give her the right to refuse my poem and tell me that mentioning guns to the extent I did is borderline graphic violence?

My father explained to me that schools are hypersensitive about guns, weapons and violence because of school shootings like Thurston and Columbine.  Though I understand this I do not like it because some people just don’t understand guns. If a teacher does not want something listed on a biopoem they should tell you in advance or not ask the question to begin with.

Please leave me a comment as to what you think about that situation. Feel free to state whatever your belief is.

A Letter to Poor Kids That Do Not Want to Be Poor

Seth 1 Comment

My name is Seth and Kids Speak for America is my website. I am 11 years old. You may be older or younger then me. You may be poor or think you are poor because you do not have what some of the other kids have. I have lived with my mom who is poor and know what that is like. I have lived in a tent in the park because my mom did not have a house. I have lived in an old camper shell with no water, electricity, radio or television. For a long time the nicest place I lived was a barn. So if you think I don’t know what being poor is you are wrong, wrong, wrong,

For the last few years I have lived in a nice house with my grandpa and dad. We are not rich now and we are not poor now.  Where I live a lot of people do not have jobs. Some people do not want to work because the government is taking care of them. Some of my friends parents make more money on unemployment then they do working and can play around or do side jobs so they don’t want to get a new job. Some people like my dad and grandpa work because they do not want the government taking care of us like animals.

You might think that it is cool to be taken care of by the government but it isn’t. If you think that Obama and the liberals are going to make things real nice for you without working you are full of crap. If you want to be an animal that is told what to do by the government that is all you will ever be unless you get some brains.

I am a conservative like my grandpa and dad. Sometimes it is scary being a conservative because most people where we live are liberals and think we have to be crazy working so hard. I was even a little bit scared when I put signs up for Art Robinson because he is a conservative trying to win against a liberal Peter Defazio.

Most people where I live think the only way to make money is to do something illegal or win the lottery. My grandpa and dad have taught be that you will be happier if you work for what you have. My grandpa taught me that liberals teach dependency and conservatives teach prosperity. I want prosperity and if you are poor you should too.

So kids if you’re parents think that the democrats are going to take care of them let them know that you don’t want to live that way. Try to get them to understand that conservatives will help them get it better instead of taking care of them like a bunch of chickens. And if your mom or dad is still that stupid where they want democrats to tell them what to do I hope they won’t vote.

And if you think that democrats and liberals are good because they take from the rich and give to the poor you are just as dumb and if you want to be smart you will learn that they take care of you just enough to get your vote. The money that they take from the rich goes to pad the pensions of government workers, union workers and politicians. That is where the money goes so get smart and learn how to take care of your self and make some money and keep your money for Obama and the congress have already stuck you with bills that you need to pay back when you grow up.

Seth 1 Comment

I would like you to be a part of the Kids Speak for America E-Board. I could use at least 50 volunteer board members both kids and adults. You guys and  girls will be able to send me specific information about subjects you want covered. We will have a special section on the website where you can share things you want to see done or maybe you want some ideas from the other e-board members. We could have online meetings to talk about some of the things that have been happening all over the U.S.A. and we will write articles and discuss how they should be wrote and what needs to be included or if the site needs to be expanded further. We can make it so adults listen to kids, high school students and college students for it is our future that is getting messed up.

If you would like to be part of this e-board or just want to share your ideas as to how this board could be best set up contact me.

Why You Shouldn’t Follow Kids Speak on Twitter

Seth 2 Comments

I was taking to a friend and telling him how hard it was to get adults to follow me on twitter and Facebook. My friend asked me why they should follow a kid and said what do you know about politics?

The truth is that I don’t know a lot about politics but the way I look at it either do some of the stupid idiots that are in congress. The idiots that keep getting our country deeper in debt and making it so kids like me might never have what people call the American Dream..

As a kid maybe I shouldn’t understand why they want to take away our guns. I know that it is one of my dreams to go into competition shooting and this is something pretty hard to do without guns.

Maybe I shouldn’t know about taxes but I know that it is wrong to take something away from someone just because they have more than you. My family isn’t rich they will not have to pay those high taxes but they remind me that those rich people are the ones that make jobs. My dad and grandpa work very hard so we can have a house and I can do things like play baseball and have a computer and I even have 2 Amazon websites so that I can earn money for college and fun things too.

Maybe I shouldn’t care about illegal aliens but I do because my mother is poor and does things like picking berries just to get some spending money and they say that Americans wont do these jobs.

I know that it is wrong to keep paying people to stay unemployed. Some of my friends parents don’t want to go back to work because they make more money than my dad does by working 2 part time jobs.

What does a kid not even in high school or old enough to serve know about the military. Maybe I have never fought in a war but someday I will be a Marine. I see our government sending our National Guard to foreign countries and in school I learned that their jobs to protect and serve within the United States helping on things like disasters. I also know that the United States must protect us and the Military should be our first concern.

What does a kid like me know about the president. I know that I see President Obama telling lie after lie. I know that lots of people around me that are lazy think that Obama is going to do everything for them. I know that he has promised change and he is doing changes that people do not want and his change is hurting this country.

So maybe I am a kid. Maybe Kids Speak for America may never be taken seriously by adults that cant understand why kids should care about our country. But I will keep on speaking out for it is the right thing to do.

With the help of some adults like my grandpa that helps me with my websites and those adults that have submitted guest articles or made comments kids like me, high school and college students will help to make the United States a country that me and my friends can grow up in and have the American Dream.

So maybe you shouldn’t follow the Kids Speak for America  blog or follow me on Twitter or Facebook or maybe you should if you really want to know how kids feel about America.
